Ferrata Bepi Zac – the First World War trail – Passo Pellegrino

Dates: dates on request
Price: per person: 110 €
Number of participants: min. 3

The Bepi Zac trail is a First World War fighting took place. The via ferrata follows the long Costabella ridge on former war paths. Along with dark tunnels and decayed emplacements a small museum reminds us of the horrors of the First World War.

From Pellegrino Pass take the chairlift Costabella. Follows the trail sign 604 westwards across the hillside and on to Passo Selle and the rifugio, about 1 hour. Here begins the via ferrata Bepi Zac, path no. 637, which follows the Costabella ridge.  You pass tunnels, ladders and a wartime bivacco restored.

Before you arrive the forcella Ciadin, you explor the small museum in the rock tower. Finally the route comes to the Forcella del Ciadin. From here it is possible to descend and return to the chiarlift Costabella.
Total time: 5 – 5 1/2 hours.

I recommend that you visit the large number of war tunnels only if equipped with a helmet and climbing set. A torch is usefull.
