A via ferrata and climbing course for the whole family. This new via ferrata is located next to the sport climbing area Mahr/ La Mara near Bressanone/Brixen.

Ideal for all people who want to approach climbing for the first time under the professional guidance of the mountain guide.

Program course via ferrata & climbing:

The day starts with a via ferrata course:
You will learn how to put on the climbing harness correctly, the correct belaying technique with the via ferrata set, how to rope up and the correct stepping and grip technique. Abseiling is also practised.
Then you always climb the via ferrata additionally secured on the rope of the mountain guide.
The via ferrata is laid out as a circuit of eight. The right entry is rated B/C and the left entry D. This means that you can choose the easier or more difficult ferrata depending on your arm strength.

After the via ferrata, you can climb a top-rope route in the sport climbing area. There are many routes in all difficulty ranges to climb here.

Access:

From the car park next to the Restaurant Wirt an der Mahr near Bressanone/Brixen (take the Autobrennero motorway to the exit Bressanone Sud), a path starts with signs 10A to the sport climbing area Mahr/La Mara and you reach the entrance in approx. 5 – 10 min.

The via ferrata and sportclimbing area has a south-easterly orientation and lies at 560m above sea level. Very suitable for autumn and spring. In summer, the rock is in the shade from 14.00.
